Most of you are probably already aware that WellPoint BCBS in New York has discontinued their distribution of PC-ACE Pro32 as "free billing software" for Blue Shield and Commercial insurance claims. Existing copies of their distributed version of PC-ACE Pro32 will EXPIRE on 04/01/2009.

You can continue to use PC-ACE Pro32 for HIPAA electronic billing by direct licensing of an upgraded version of the product from System Designs, Inc., the PC-ACE Pro32 developer and owner. The enhanced all-payer version of PC-ACE Pro32 will offer the following:

• Continued electronic transmission of WellPoint Blue Shield claims directly through the existing E-Link (IVANS) network.
• Continued electronic transmission of NGS Medicare claims directly through the existing E-Link (IVANS) network.
• HIPAA electronic claims submission of Commercial Insurance claims to either the Availity clearinghouse, or continued use of the E-Link network link to Emdeon like you are currently using.

  NOTE: Unlike the Emdeon or MD-Online clearinghouses, Availity does NOT charge claim transaction fees for Commercial Insurance claims.

• We are reviewing the NY Medicaid HIPAA Companion Guide requirements and will likely add support for that payer in the near future.
