Most of you are probably already aware that MassHealth through their Fiscal Intermediary, EDS, has discontinued their distribution of PCSS, AKA; PC-ACE Pro32, as "free billing software" for Massachusetts Medicaid insurance claims. Existing copies of their distributed version of PCSS will EXPIRE on 06/30/2009.

You can continue to use PCSS (PC-ACE Pro32) for HIPAA electronic billing of Massachusetts Medicaid claims by directly licensing an upgraded version of the product from System Designs, Inc., the PC-ACE Pro32 developer and owner. For your clarification, the PCSS product in actuality is a version of PC-ACE Pro32 that was private labeled for MassHealth distribution. Also, MedLink Technologies and System Designs, Inc. are merged companies with common management and ownership. You also have the option of upgrading from your "Medicaid only" version to an enhanced "all-payer" version of PC-ACE Pro32 which will offer the following:

• Continued electronic transmission of MassHealth Medicaid claims, Institutional or Professional directly through the existing EDS provided network link.
• HIPAA electronic transmission of Medicare claims directly to the Medicare Intermediary or Carrier through their respective electronic upload options. PC-ACE Pro32 is tested and an approved product for both Anthem (Medicare Part A) and NHIC (Medicare Part B).
• HIPAA electronic transmission of BCBS of Massachusetts private insurance claims directly to BCBS.
• HIPAA electronic submission of other Commercial Insurance claims automatically to the Availity clearinghouse via a secure FTP internet connection provided with PC-ACE Pro32 at no additional cost.

  NOTE: Unlike most clearinghouses, Availity does NOT charge claim transaction fees for Commercial Insurance claims. A list of the Availity supported payers is available at www.availity.com.
